FIRST DAY: Cusco – Soraypampa – Humantay Lagoon.
To start this fantastic 5-day trek. At 4:00 a.m., our staff will go through your hotel in Cusco. Then, you will journey for 2-hour until Mollepata town, where you will have breakfast. Continue your trip to Challakancha, the starting point of the hike, where you will also meet the muleteers who will be in charge of transporting the camping equipment.
While walking, enjoy spectacular views of the Andes mountain range. At noon, try the delights of our professional chef. In the afternoon, make a short hike to the Humantay lagoon (4100 meters /13.452 feet), admire the beauty of the landscape and take excellent photographs. At 6:30 pm, dinner, and lodging at the Soraypampa camp.

SECOND DAY: Soraypampa – Salkantay Highest Pass – Chaullay
Today, you will dawn among the huge snow-capped mountains. At 5:40 am, have your breakfast and then start the uphill hike to the highest point of the classic
Salkantay trek 5-day to Machu Picchu. From Salkantay highest pass, you will admire the majesty of the Salkantay mountain (Apu = sacred mountain) and also visit blue lagoon. Then start to descend to Wayracpunku and take a short break to enjoy the energetic lunch. After lunch, continue descending to the tropical forest, where you will appreciate the richness of the biodiversity (flora and fauna) and finally arrived at the Chaullay campsite. At 6:30 pm. Dinner and overnight in campsite tents.

THIRD DAY: Chaullay – Playa Sahuayaco Village – Llaqtapata Archaeological site.
After the delicious breakfast, start walking among the tropical forest, commonly referred to the as high jungle. This part of your adventure is considered one of the best sections because you can see varieties of wild and domestic vegetation such as orchids, begonias, coffee plantations, bananas, oranges and more. After 5-hour hiking, take your short time to have lunch in Playa Sahuayaco. Then continue on a beautiful original Inca trail ascending towards the Llaqtapata camp. It is the best camp of the classic Salkantay trek 5-day because you will spend the night in front of the Inca city of Machu Picchu, you will appreciate the beautiful sunset and sunrise, without a doubt, you will have the beautiful panoramic views. If you are birds, mammals, and orchids lovers, this is the best place to be with them. At night, they will make a bonfire with all the members of the expedition; if the night is starry, you will be able to see the Inca constellations.

FOURTH DAY: Llaqtapata – Hydroelectric – Machupicchu town (Aguas Calientes)
This morning will be fantastic because you will have magical views of the first rays of the sun that will illuminate the top of the Huaynapicchu Mountain and the Inca city of Machu Picchu.
After your energy breakfast, explore the archaeological site of the small Inca city of Llaqtapata. It is still covered in its 80% with vegetation and around it, you can observe the diversity of flora and fauna. If you are lucky, you can see the spectacled bear or the Andean bear. After all, begin to descend a zigzag path to the hydroelectric plant, where you will have your last lunch, and then you will say goodbye to the muleteers and cook. From the Hydroelectric Power Station you have two options to get to Machu Picchu Pueblo: the first option, to walk by the railroad for 3 hours (we do not recommend because there are many small stones in the route). The second option is to travel by train around 48 minutes (train departure time 2:17 or 2:50 hours). Once you arrive at Machu Picchu Pueblo, settle into your hotel and at 6:30 pm enjoy your last dinner.

FIFTH DAY: Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes) – Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco.
Today is such an important day because you will visit one of the 7 wonders of the world, Machu Picchu.
Have breakfast at the hotel and go to the Inca city of Machu Picchu for the assigned shift, you can go by bus or walk. The guided tour within the lost city of the Incas will last 2 and a half hours and if you have reserved the permit to climb to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. After the excursion, you can go up on your own.
After all, take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, have lunch on your own and then head towards the train station. Take your return train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy in Cusco. Upon your arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to escort you to the city of Cusco – Hotel.
