Overview
The Classic Inka Trail of 4 days / 3 nights to Machu Picchu is the only experience in life for those who travel it. This Classic Inka Road in Peru is considered the greatest hiking adventure, one of the 10 best treks in the world and unique in South America. Because it has an exquisite beauty, natural and cultural protection. The adventure in the network of Inca roads built of stone starts at km 82 of the railway line to Machu Picchu, it is 43 kilometers long and lasts 4-day of walking. It will take you to one of the wonders of the world through the Andes, with fascinating panoramic views, visiting small archaeological complexes, passing through different ecosystems where you will enjoy the richness of biodiversity (flora and fauna).
DAY 1: Cusco – Km 82 – Wayllabamba
At 6:00 am. Begin your trip in Cusco, traveling in a minibus until kilometer 82 of the railway, get to know the rest of the group and the expedition team that will escort you during your trip: local porters, cook, and the multilingual guide. Then, show your passport and the ticket at the checkpoint. Continue your expedition on a gentle
trail until Wayllabamba camp, which is located at 3,050 meters / 10,006 feet. On the way, visit the archaeological site of Patallaqta and enjoy the splendid landscapes of the Urubamba River valley, as well as the incredible views of the Veronica Mountain. At 6:30 p.m., in the camp, enjoy a nutritious dinner.

DAY 2: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusqa – Pacaymayo
Today is the most challenging day of the Classic Inka Trail because you will cross the highest point of the hike.
Take your breakfast at 6:00 a.m. Then start the 5-hour hike until you reach the highest point commonly called Warmiwañusca (dead woman), which is at an altitude of 4200 meters / 13779 feet. Therefore, you will have incredible views of the eastern cordillera of the Andes. Then, continue your journey along a beautiful stone path to the Pacaymayo camp. After lunch, take a relaxing break. After the healthy dinner, spend your second night camping next to a small stream.

DAY 3: Pacaymayo – Phuyupatamarka – Wiñayhuayna
After an energy breakfast, start the day with a climb from the Pacaymayo valley to the Runkuracay pass (3970 meters / 13,024 feet). On this trip, let yourself be fascinated by the charm of nature, deep valleys, steep mountains covered with vegetation and other covered with snow. Descend gradually to the lunch spot, visiting the small archaeological sites. After a short rest, continue downhill for 2 hours until Wiñayhuayna, place of the last night of camping and in the afternoon, explore the
archaeological complex.

DAY 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco
It is the final and most awaited stretch of the walk. Because you will visit one of the wonders of the world, Machu Picchu.
Begin your last day of hiking before sunrise with the delicious breakfast at 4:00 a.m. and say goodbye to the porters and the chef. Then, immediately, start walking with your leader at 4:30 a.m. follow a path that crosses a humid forest full of flora and fauna to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku). From where you can enjoy incredible panoramic views of the Inca city of Machupicchu. Then, descend to the town and explore for 2 hours together with your expert tour guide.
After all, take the bus to the city of Aguas Calientes. Lunch at any restaurant on your own. Then head to the Aguas Calientes train station to board your return train to Poroy station (train departure at 3:20 p.m.), where our staff will be waiting for you to escort you to the city of Cusco – Hotel.
NOTE: To climb to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, make an additional reservation and discover the construction of crazy Inca engineers.

Recommendations.
- Before booking this 4-Day Classic Inka Trail, ask us about availability for the dates you want. In general, reservations must be made at least 6 months in advance, depending on the season.
- Be in Cusco at least 2 days before the excursion
- Drink infusion of coca leaves to avoid altitude sickness and
- Take short hikes in Cusco to acclimatize or you can also hire short tours around Cusco.
- Here you have the alternatives: Cusco Combined Tour (duration 5 hours), Tour Chinchero – Maras Salt mines – Moray (duration 6 hours), Valle Sur Cusco Tour(duration 6 hours) and Tour to Sacred Valleys of the Incas (full day). If you want to hire any of these tours, you must book separately.

The whole tour will be in group service (shared). The travel company Machupicchu Andes Tours – Matours. It gives you this option so that you can join the already formed group. The group will be formed with travelers of different nationalities, ages, languages, etc.
In the price shown below, we include the Expedition train ticket, which is a cheap service and if you want to return by Vistadome train, you must add a supplement.
